The National Book Critics Circle (NBCC) Award is an annual prize given
by the NBCC for the best book in 6 categories, including fiction. Unlike the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award, this award considers books
published in the United States both in English and in translation. In its 37 years of existence, however, it appears only two books in translation won the award.
